The Electrolytic Plating Co Ltd (EPC) specialise in the application of high performance surface coatings and metal finishing plus thread locking and sealing, enabling us to offer a full coating and patching service to our customers.

We have a wide applications base servicing several market sectors such as OEM, construction, automotive, industrial and renewable energy. Our 24hr automated process ensures high quality ELV, WEE ROH’s and Reach PPAP’s compliant parts. We also have ISO 14001-2015 and ISO 9001-2015 accreditations.

We have been family owned and run since 1896 when a small business was founded in Birmingham called “The Electrolytic Apparatus Co”. Its primary function was designing, manufacturing and installing barrel plating systems for companies processing work for the saddlery, lock and construction industries.

In 1935, they sold the patent for the barrel plating design they had invented (still used by our industry world-wide today) to a company called “W Canning Ltd” and started a new company by the name of “The Electrolytic Plating Company Ltd”, specialising in metal finishing and barrel plating.

Today, the business has become one of the largest, most efficient barrel plating and surface coating companies in the UK operating 24hrs/7 days a week at its state of the art facility based in the West Midlands.

To meet our customer’s evolving needs, we now also operate a thriving thread locking and sealing division; offering an end to end patching and coating service.
